From navigating global challenges to driving medical breakthroughs, our journey has been remarkable in every way. Over the past few years, we have worked tirelessly, advancing through several clinical trials, winning competitions, and building connections with incredible people—doctors, nurses, and distributors—around the globe. Whether collaborating with the largest corporations or the smallest businesses, we have found a common thread: the ambition to add real value, both to hospitals and to their own companies.
We have come a long way. Despite various challenges, we have kept going because ReLink addresses a true need. Our breakaway connector is not just a product; it is a lifeline—saving lives in hospitals, with potential applications on battlefields and in home care settings.
One experience that really put things into perspective for us was dealing with a supposed investor who tried to scam us. We spent weeks preparing and even travelled to Spain, only to be asked for a fee in cryptocurrency as part of a "great funding opportunity." Around the same time, we encountered another potential investor who, like a vulture, tried to exploit our situation, demanding that we sacrifice our well-being for their gain. This journey has been like a roller coaster, with its share of thrilling highs, sudden drops, and unexpected twists. Just like a visit to an amusement park, it has been challenging, exhilarating, and ultimately, unforgettable.
Even with these setbacks, Rebecca, the team, and I kept pushing forward. We worked relentlessly, all while recognising the importance of knowing our limits. In the end, our hard work paid off, thanks to the unwavering support of our wonderful angel investors, both old and new. We have always believed in the importance of choosing the right people to work with—how you do business and treat people truly matters. Now, we understand this even more deeply.
Looking ahead, we are gearing up for the next phase—driving sales and scaling up to full-scale industrialisation. From both an engineering and business perspective, this is incredibly cool! Our vision is clear—to elevate safety and prevent catheter dislodgement. I love that we are taking this full journey—identifying the need in hospitals, delivering solutions back to them, and now scaling up production and sales.
Being a mum and an entrepreneur, takes up most of my time. It might seem like I have pulled back from other areas of life, and in many ways, I have. Time feels like it is both standing still and racing by. Rebecca and I often say, "We are not failing here," and that keeps us going, pushing even harder to succeed and become a saying within the company. Sometimes, it is easier to just get the work done than to explain why it has not been.
As we move forward, let us keep doing good for the healthcare around us, for the nurses and patients. We are looking forward to what lies ahead!
