Interlinked demonstrates ReLink IV at Civil-Military Innovation Demo Day

Interlinked was one of 30 companies selected to participate in Demo Day – Acceleration av civil-militära innovationer, organised by Vinnova and the Swedish Armed Forces.

The event brought together companies and stakeholders working with technologies that have potential applications across both civilian and defence environments.

Dr Ujala Bhardwaj, CQO at Interlinked, represented the company and presented ReLink IV, demonstrating its potential for military medicine, emergency care, casualty evacuation and other demanding environments.

Protecting IV access when it matters

Accidental pulling of an IV line can result in catheter dislodgement and interrupt the delivery of fluids, blood or medication. In environments such as casualty evacuation, emergency medicine and frontline care, maintaining reliable IV access can be particularly important.

ReLink IV is designed to help address this challenge. The breakaway connector separates when an IV line is subjected to an accidental pull, helping protect the catheter from dislodgement. The system can then be reconnected, allowing IV treatment to be restarted quickly.

During Demo Day, Interlinked demonstrated the technology and discussed how ReLink IV could support continuity of treatment in military, emergency and dual-use settings.

From civilian healthcare to dual-use applications

ReLink was originally developed in response to an unmet need identified in civilian healthcare. As the technology has developed, Interlinked has increasingly explored its potential in environments where patients may be transported, moved frequently or treated under demanding conditions.

Participation in Demo Day provided an opportunity to demonstrate the technology, exchange perspectives with stakeholders working in defence and emergency medicine, and explore how an established healthcare innovation could contribute to broader preparedness and resilience.

Interlinked is now looking to work with clinical, defence, emergency medicine, rescue and patient transport teams interested in evaluating ReLink IV in their own environments.
